COVID 19: kano lockdown day six started beautifully well for my neighborhood and I. This is so because, before the cock could sound the alarm that it is morning again, my family and many other in the neighborhood are up already and we've started doing what has overtime become a customary duty for all Christians. OR what we all know to be called "morning devotion".
We kicked off by saying the Rosary of our Lady- the popular prayer of the catholic church. The day was Wednesday by our calendar, so we had to say the Glorious mysteries. At first I was not spiritually present though I was, bodily, because I was still struggling with the debris of sleep that has been destroyed by the sounding slaps from my mother's lefthand.
Further afield, It took me up to the 3rd mystery before I regained full control of myself and realized that the recitation is done in Igbo. I know i couldn't help it but I joined in the significant parts that I can (the Hall Mary(s), the Our Fathers and the Glory bes). The other parts was not for my siblings and I; it was left for the scholars of Igbo in the house - my mum and dad.
Fast forward to the part of interest, it was as if the rising bell was rang in the neighborhood; because almost at the same time, we started singing songs and clapping hands and praising God for the gift of the beautiful day. Now, the clapping was simultaneous, the voices were simultaneously epic and the wordings were simultaneously rhyming. Then, my physical senses begin to develop such sensational feelings bearing laughter that added purifying weather of light and love to me.
The whole scenario this morning, left me with the fulfilment of the saying "The family that prays together, stays together"
